Many people are feeling stuck and unhappy because they’re trying to control or avoid negative thoughts they are buying into about themselves and the world around them.
The object of this mind exercise is to clear basic misconceptions about our thoughts and how “real” we think they are.
You know the kind of thoughts we’re talking about – the kind that keep running through our minds again and again until we think we’re going to go batty! Or the kind that we just want to push away. The more we fight them or stuff them, the stronger they become until they start running our lives.
The truth is, thoughts are only concepts and have no power unless we give it to them. So, in the simplest terms, whenever we try to fight, control or sweep negative thoughts under the carpet, we are actually causing ourselves more suffering.
An example would be when you are struggling with an event or something someone said and are spending a a lot of time trying to “figure it out” or proving that what happened was wrong. Because you insist on being right about what happened in the past, you continue to suffer as if that memory were actually existing now in the present, even though simply letting it go would probably help you to feel happier.
By giving a memory or a thought that much power, we actually limit ourselves and stay locked into the past. Our decisions and projections become fixated and immovable. This preoccupation with how real we think our thoughts are actually cause us to miss opportunities to be present and happy. Life energy or chi’ gets diverted and used to feed negativity, rather than our true potential.
The simple mind exercise below can help you loosen the grip of painful, repetitive thoughts and let go on a DNA level so that you can use your energy to fuel happiness rather than suffering.
Gently gaze at these Intuitive Learning Circles and graphs one at a time and consider the question or affirmation that goes with each Step. The process helps you to become aware of what kind of thinking is bothering you and make a different choice about it by relaxing and letting go.
Step 1:
Give yourself permission to clear out a negative thought or memory that this symbol is reminding you of.
Next, recall a difficult or irritating experience you often have and imagine that it’s like a huge block in your mind. Take several relaxing breaths while gently looking at the circle below.
“I imagine that the block is loosening and the thoughts in it are beginning to move.”
Now that the thoughts are moving, you may notice a whole constellation of related thoughts and feelings about yourself or others that have caused a lot of pain.
You are now in a position to be more objective as you continue to Step 2 of the exercise.
Step 2:
Use this affirmation with the Circle below to access Soul information that’s ready to be transmuted:
“I let go of any beliefs that I am unworthy of being happy, or being treated in a kind, respectful way.”
Step 3:
As long as we agree with negative and repetitive thoughts, we can’t be open to new visions of who we have the potential to be. Use this affirmation and the next Circle to free up your mind:
“I release any belief or agreement to buy into these thoughts or feelings.”
“I release any agreement that these thoughts or feelings define who I am or what I can do.”
“I let go of any harmful agreements I have with the people involved with these thoughts.”
“I let go of any agreements I have to be controlled by the thoughts of others.”
“My new agreement is to live in the present and fulfill my potential.”
Step 4:
The next few symbols are from “Divine Nature Activated” and will help us release negative conditioning down to our DNA. The key is to relax as much as possible while looking at each symbol. It can help to imagine an actual DNA strand relaxing, healing and filling up with light – much like this picture.
“I relax and allow Universal Life Energy to enter and fill my being with calmness and light.”
“I clear a path in my mind for the truth.”
“I let go of any need I have to be right about this situation.”
“I welcome thoughts that offer positive solutions.”
“All false thoughts that cause me to suffer are dispelling now.”
Step 6:
Imagine that all negative thoughts about yourself or others are like a dark cloud that’s now dissolving into a clear, blue sky.
Remain looking at this symbol for dissolving destructive blueprints until the cloud is completely gone.
“I dissolve all negative thoughts like a black cloud that dissipates into a clear blue sky.”
Once you’ve done that, make sure you get all the negative attachments:
“I dissolve any other dark clouds that represent the negative thoughts or attachments from other people that might be affecting me or draining my energy.”
Step 7:
Use this Circle to heal and seal your auras.
Be sure that you spend all the time you need with it. Your auras are an important part of having good health and protection!
Step 8:
Choose a positive and life affirming thought that would really support you. Then, use this Mandala from Kuan Yin to redirect your energy towards it. Imagine your positive thought is in the center of the Circle. Aim your attention and energy directly at it and then allow your mind to relax and adjust to your positive thought.
“I now use my mind and my energy to pay attention to positive thoughts that genuinely support me.”
Congratulations!
You’ve just let go of an old mental pattern that’s been sabotaging your happiness for a long time. After you’ve rested, you may go through this mind exercise again around other memories that are troubling you. Be sure to take good care of yourself though by drinking enough water, etc. It’s always wise to be gentle with ourselves when dealing with difficult memories.
